From the world of poetry, Joseba Sarrionandia (lurreta, 1958) later branched out into novels and stories and is currently one of the best-known writers on the Basque literary scene.He took his first literary steps with the 'Pott' literary group, alongside Bernardo Atxaga, who has also contributed a tale to this year's Collection of Stories from the Basque Country.Imprisoned in 1980, he escaped from Martutene in 1985 on the day of the San Fermin festival and has enjoyed great literary success ever since.
